I wanted to do an entry today to my future self, as I got a few things I’d like to say to that dude that may help him. People say you should look after the future, so I think it’s important you take care of you in the future, don’t you? If you’ve no idea [...]

The wonderful feast of football that was Euro 2008 ended with an excellent match and a worthy winner from Fernando Torres. As a Liverpool fan, I obviously had a close eye on Spain, and it’s great to see our top man burst through and dink it over Lehmann for the winner. Are you watching, Ronaldo?
Spain [...]

Saturdays usually begin quite late in the morning, I must confess. Sometimes I don’t get to see the morning at all, aside from the very start of it, which is more like the day before, if you catch my drift. Anyway, seeing as I didn’t go out last night (Cambridge tonight, instead) I was quite [...]

European Championships Semi Final 1 Review
You couldn’t have expected a Klose finish to that Semih final! Turkey did so well, and certainly were no Lahms to the slaughter.
Ahhhh. I just had to get that out. Blame the Males pun gene for that one!
When the thunderstorms weren’t messing up the BBC pictures, I watched the match [...]

Had a day off yesterday to gauge if the run on Saturday had affected my troublesome legs. My lower calves were quite tight, and my weak groin is playing up slightly (no sniggering at the back!) I’ve got a long way to go (literally) before I’m ok to run the longer distances, but I’ll get there. [...]

Guus Hiddink is a genius! Why didn’t we get him as England manager? He’s just led Russia to the semis at the expense of his home country, Holland. Surprised? Not me - I predicted they’d beat the Dutch, as I reckoned the team in orange had peaked too soon, whereas Russia were just warming up [...]

I put on the Russia v Sweden match whilst running a couple of miles on the treadmill, and enjoyed Hiddink’s Reds complete a coprehensive win over the tired Swedes. I thought Russia would do well before the tournament started, but had written them off since their 1-4 defeat against Spain. I reckon they’ll now beat [...]

Took my bike out again for half an hour round the cycle tracks. Had quite a good workout, and I’ve got used to the gears now. Maybe I should pick regular circuits and try to beat some times that I set to help with the fitness even more. Nice and easy on the lower legs.
Got [...]

Ran for about 15 minutes, just over a mile, on the treadmill.
Condition Before: Calves a bit tight, but felt I could run for maybe 20-30 mins.
Condition After: Got cramp in left foot, which affected left leg, so didn’t push it and stopped. Felt fine cardio-vascular-wise, but didn’t want to damage leg.
Ran whilst watching Germany scrape [...]

Ok, so it was hardly the injury of the century, but it was big enough for me to be really concerned. I’ve had anothe run since on the treadmill with the Nikes and things have been good. Slow and short, but doing everything they recommend (Ice, Ibuprofen, exercise, rest.) I’m now determined to beat this [...]
