Trying on my new gear ready for Norway whilst pretending to pack. Hat is so awesome - connects to your iPod! Staying overnight at Yotel, Heathrow. Pretty funky place. Japanese-style pod rooms. Free wi-fi. (laptop not included) It aint big. The doors, to the right, and I took this on the bed.
Over Denmark- very flat and snowy as you can see. Over Norway - starts off very rocky. Reminded me of chocolate pudding and cream! On the way to the ship terminal in Bergen. the day started off quite overcast, and then had blue skies and bright sunshine.
Clearing snow on the quayside. Pretty little town. After a firein 1904 that destroyed hundreds of homes, it was desgined by an architect in the style of Art Nouveau.
This is a school.
Our Norwegain guide who took us through a walk of Alesund, giving us the history of the people and buildings. Hotel. Didn't have time to walk up there. Drivers cope with all the slush by just putting their foot down and getting on with it!
Note the road going left to right in the foreground - no snow there due to undreground pipes of hot water feeding the houses.
