The phone rings.
Steve (mate in New York): “Dude – gonna sign up to run the New York marathon in November. My work can get me a place. You should do it too! Hurry, as applications have to be in soon.”
Me: “Cool. Always said I wanted to do the New York one. Yeah, why not. Got plenty of time to train. I’ll sign up as well.”
Andy puts the phone down a few minutes later, and then looks on the Internet on how to sign up. A few hours later, he commits, pays a deposit, and is all set.
Oh crap! What the heck did I just commit to????
